In Honor Of...
In Honor of "Women Entrepreneur's Day," I would first like to say "GIRLBOSSES UNITE" to ALL of my beautiful, inspiring female business owners. I, myself, own a business and am working on owning many, many more! A lot of people don't know this but I launched my clothing line, "Moaccha Mode" in 2009. With pieces that I designed, it was pretty successful. I traveled to various cities showcasing the line as well as receiving a nomination for a fashion award. I changed the name about two more times but FINALLY settled for the name "shopprateddR." Life unfortunately happened and I had to take a break from pursuing my dreams of having this mega fashion line which transcends from women clothing to even little girl's clothing. I'm now in the process of re-launching my women's line, "shoprateddR" and little girl's line "shopkarmynaniyah" which will both debut in 2016.
As I look back on life, the lines, the shows and even the award, I realize I have learned a lot. One lesson learned was to never give up. Some days I look back and think how far I would've been had life not happened and I was able to keep focusing on the brand and building it. Now I know things happen for a reason and I'm so blessed. When I launched the line in 2009, I didn't really have a clear direction and didn't know what I wanted to design. I mean ya'll I was all over the place! I believe at that time, my target client was Lady GaGa! :( All I knew was that I wanted to be a fashion designer. Taking a break from it all, allowed for me to focus on what my vision REALLY was and what I really wanted to present to women all around the world. It was the ability to make women FEEL GOOD AT ALL TIMES. I wanted to make clothing for women that made them FEEL GOOD and feel as though they ruled the world. I want them to feel SEXY and make it cool again to be classy, sexy, intelligent, and well dressed!
Now that "shoprateddR" is debuting in 2016, I have my mind right and I can't wait until next year this time when I'm celebrating the success and amazing sales of the line. I have so much in store for the "ratedd" brand and I'm just so blessed God gave me another chance to get it right.
To ALL of my female entrepreneurs (ASPIRING and ESTABLISHED), I salute you Queens! I salute your hard work, your long hours and your dedication to make this world a better place, one business at a time! See you all at the finish line! Get up, get sexy and celebrate the fact that you are a GIRL and you RUN THE WORLD!
