#TestitThursday - Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser
Happy Thursday Queens!! I’m back for another edition of #TestitThursdays, a segment where twice a month I showcase a product I’m loving or not so loving at the moment. Being I’m an extreme product whore, I feel as though it is my God-given right to review products for all of my ladies out there.
My skin has been dry, flaky and just an overall hot mess as of lately so I have been on a mission to find products which were hydrating and nourishing to my skin. When it comes to skincare, I do my research and am always looking for the best cleansers, toners, moisturizers, etc. for my combination/oily skin. I had been seeing the word “Hyaluronic Acid” floating around quite a bit. I see it hydrates and plumps the skin giving it a nice, healthy glow. I was more than excited when I saw this in Target because my skin was in desperate need of an extreme cure. I was a bit nervous about it. I have extremely sensitive skin and sometimes “exfoliating” cleansers, toners, etc. can irritate it. I read it was a “gentle” cleanser so I took the risk and made sure to use it that very night.
After the first wash, I noticed the texture around my nose and chin had disappeared and it was much softer. I also noticed it gave my skin such a nice, healthy glow. I was so excited to continue the use of this product and see where my skin would be in about a month.
Everything was going well until about a few weeks later when I noticed the sides of my face along my hairline was peeling and beginning to show tiny bumps. I thought maybe it was just apart of the detox I had been partaking in but soon realized it was the cleanser. I immediately stopped using it and my skin is slowly healing but it’s still in a weird phase. Currently I’m in the market for some new products but I do know that the “Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser” is not for me or any woman who may have sensitive skin like myself. I do plan on using other products from the “Hydro Boost” line including the moisturizer and night mask being they’re not exfoliating products.
Overall, I rate this product a “B” being it did break me out but I do love how during the initial use, it made my skin so plump and helped with the texture around my nose and chin. If you are in the market for an inexpensive, hydrating cleanser and do not have sensitive skin, check it out HERE.
