Correctors...Are They Worth the Hype?

Correctors...Are They Worth the Hype?

Unless you've been hiding somewhere, you've heard about correctors and how they're quintessential in hiding dark spots, redness, under eye circles, etc. A lot of people are skeptical about them and feel as though it's an extra step that can easily be eliminated. Some believe foundation and concealer should be enough to rid yourself of any imperfections.

I suffer from hyperpigmentation which means I have numerous dark scars around my face especially my forehead. I wear a full coverage foundation but sometimes they still seem to peep through. I'm so happy I was able to get ahold of the corrector because it has changed my life. The corrector I'm absolutely loving right now is the L.A. Girls Pro Conceal Orange Corrector. I love it because not only is it creamy, pigmented and very blendable, but more so because it can be purchased from your local beauty supply store for only $2.99. I'm looking to purchase the orange corrector from MAC and Sephora as well so I'll be sure to share how those work out.

Below are a few pictures of how I used the corrector and the difference it made on my forehead. I also shared with you a trick I used to make sure the corrector didn't bleed through my foundation, which was LIGHTLY applied with a translucent powder over the corrector to set it and then applied my favorite foundation.

As you can see, there definitely was a difference after applying the corrector.  I'm a fan of the corrector and will be purchasing more from different brands. Not to mention, I also used this under my eyes for my dark circles as well as around my mouth to correct darkness. If you haven't tried it, definitely give it a try. It makes a difference in the overall look of your makeup and gives you that flawless, "I Woke Up Like This" look. I don't recommend this under powder foundations, just liquid.
