It's the first of the month which means I have to pay homage to that ONE product I just could not live without the entire month! The month of January was all about my baby A.K.A. the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. This powder is really all you need to have that face BEAT on an entirely different level!
I discovered this powder about a few months ago after hearing the amazing reviews about it and knew I had to take it home with me. I was extremely nervous about trying this because most translucent powders leave a White cast over your face which you usually will see in flash photography and it's definitely not a good look. When your melanin game is strong like mine, it's hard to find a powder that sets your makeup and doesn't have you looking like Casper. This product does just that!
Not only does it set your makeup to perfection, giving your face a flawless look, it doesn't leave a cast no matter how long you let it "bake" on your face. As I stated in the new episode of #rateddtalk debuting this FRIDAY on our #rateddtalk YouTube channel, I usually didn't bake. Recently I've been baking when I really want to have a more glam look. The powder sits in the areas I have highlighted as well as under my contour for about 5 minutes and when I wipe it away, it leaves my skin looking and feeling very smooth. It locks the concealer in, causing for the concealer to not crease or melt away as the day goes on. The best way to apply it is either with a makeup sponge/wedge or your beauty blender. This makes sure the powder is really adhering to the concealer, locking it in like concrete. Also, before using this powder to set your concealer under your eye, make sure to tap it out with your beauty blender to soak up any of the excess concealer that was left after blending because once you set it, you can't go back!
If you are in the mood for a new setting/'baking' powder, this is perfect for you! Trust me! Its ability to give me a seamless yet natural look is the reason why this product was my LOVE the entire month of January! You can purchase the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder at your local Sephora! Happy Baking!:-)
