The Perfect MATTE Lip...

The Perfect MATTE Lip...

The holidays are HERE! Even though I LOVE to eat on Thanksgiving, Christmas is my ALL time favorite holiday! During the holidays, if you are a HUGE foodie like me, you love to eat everything in sight and that means having a lipstick that will last ALL day and night!

Now I know LOTS of people shy away from matte lips because they can be drying but to avoid the repetitive, "eat, check mirror, re-apply lipstick and repeat" routine, it's the absolute perfect option. I can be extremely lazy when it comes to makeup touch ups during the day so matte lipsticks are ALWAYS my go to! I have a few things you can do so the dry, cracked matte lip trend doesn't affect you!

Below I have some tips on making sure matte lips are your go-to lip of choice for the holidays!

STEP 1: WET YOUR LIPS

By wetting your lips, you are preparing them for your exfoliation treatment you are about to indulge them in.

STEP 2: APPLY YOUR EXFOLIANT

Take your coconut oil and brown sugar mixture and rub it all over your entire lips. This mixture will ensure the dead skin is removed with the brown sugar but moisturized and hydrated with the coconut oil. My lips may look a little weird but it's because I have more oil than sugar!

Step 3: EXFOLIATE

For this step, I choose to use a toothbrush to ensure the dead skin is really being exfoliated away. Now if you have sensitive lips that are easily bruised, I would suggest you just use your fingers to massage the exfoliant on your lips. You can do this process for 1-2 minutes,

STEP 4: RINSE YOUR LIPS & PAT DRY

After you have exfoliated your lips for 1-2 minutes, be sure to rinse off the exfoliant, wiping away the excess with a wet towel. You will have a thin layer of coconut oil left on your lips that you can massage into your lips to give it extra hydration before adding the matte lipstick or you can wipe it off.

STEP 5: APPLY FAVORITE MATTE/LIQUID LIPSTICK

This, of course, is the LAST step! You will most definitely notice a difference in your lips when following this process. You will also see that your lips don't feel as dry after massaging the coconut oil into them

Matte/Liquid Lipsticks are all of the craze but please don't allow for the dry finish to scare you away! Try these steps and I'm sure you will never turn to another type of lipstick ever again!
